 November 10th, 2012 -  MTS performs at Diwali 2012

Sam Evans and Melbourne Tabla School students Siawash Sarmast, Vincent Dodd and Kuljit Panesar performed in front of a huge crowd of 20,000 people at the 2012 Diwali Celebration at Fed Square on the 10th of November. Many thanks to accompanist Balvinder Singh and everyone who supported us.

 


 

 September 2012 -  MTS teacher Sam Evans is invited to perform concert tour of North India.

Sam Evans will be performing tabla solo and accompaniment in a tour of Northern and Central India during Decemeber and January 2012/13. Tour dates are listed HERE

 


 

 

 17th July, 2012 - MTS Student Phil Coyle recieves funding from ArtsVic to record a new album

Congratulations to Melbourne Tabla School Student Phil Coyle who has recieved funding from the Victorian Government to record a new album on tabla. The City of Yarra has become a Major Sponsor of the 2012 Melbourne Tabla School conceert to be held at the Fitzroy Twon Hall. The Concert is to be presented by The Boite

  2nd December 2011 - Melbourne Tabla School Produces Australia's First VCE Tabla Player


Congratulations to Melbourne Tabla School student Vincent Dodd who has become the first person in Australia to sit VCE exams on tabla. He gained one of the best grades in the state - 100% for the Music Investigation subject and and A+ for his performance on tabla. He was featured with a full colour photo and article on page 3 of the national newspaper The Age.
