Anthropomorphic climate change is affecting us all. We can no longer talk about it in terms of a future tense, it’s here, it’s happening, and we all have to be active in doing something about it, in everything we do.
In playing our role in combating climate change, Melbourne Tabla School plants one new tree for every student of the Melbourne Tabla School each year through Carbon Positive Australia. We use rainwater, solar power, bicycles and carbon offset everything we do, from running events to importing drums. As far as our calculations go, we believe this makes the Melbourne Tabla School carbon positive. |
Carbon Positive Australia uses funds raised through donations and carbon offsets to plant native trees on degraded land in Australia. Their reforestation projects sequester carbon whilst helping to restore the landscape and conserve the natural biodiversity. They carefully select native species that support natural ecosystems and wildlife, creating habitats that are more resilient to Australia’s climate. Since 2006 Carbon Positive Australia has planted over 4.2 million native trees across 3000 hectares of land. Click the image below to learn more about Carbon Positive Australia.
